Camper Vinn Lifetime Conversion Warranty – Terms and Conditions
Camper Vinn’s Lifetime Conversion Warranty is designed to give you long-term reassurance in your conversion and genuine peace of mind after purchase.
The Camper Vinn warranty includes a 12-month warranty starting from the purchase date. After the first year, your cover continues and renews each time the vehicle completes its annual habitation check on Camper Vinn premises.
Any work carried out, repairs performed, or damage caused by a third party or by the customer is not covered under this warranty.
Where the base vehicle is under 3 years old, it may also be protected by the manufacturer’s vehicle warranty (subject to the manufacturer’s own terms). Please review the details of the specific vehicle you are purchasing to confirm whether any additional warranties apply.
This policy explains the cover available under: Conversion Warranty, Base Vehicle Warranty, Mechanical Work Warranty, and Paintwork Warranty.
1. What is covered by the Camper Vinn Conversion Warranty
1.1 Cover during the first 12 months after the date of purchase
During the first year, the Camper Vinn warranty includes:
- All mechanical work completed by us (the engine and gearbox are covered for 12 months or 7,000 miles, whichever comes first), unless we state otherwise
- Electrical system and components
- Power management system
- Smart charging system
- Diesel heater
- Bed system and components
- Interior fixtures and fittings (including lights, hinges, push locks)
- Gas system and components
- Water system and components
- Roof shell (including struts)
- Pop-top/elevating bed (including struts)
- Swivel seat mechanism
Damage to paintwork caused by external factors, accidents, normal wear and tear, misuse, neglect, or improper care is excluded from this warranty.
We reserve the right to amend the above list when needed. Any exceptions or decisions will be made by management on a case-by-case basis.
This warranty is offered on the basis that your vehicle is looked after and maintained whenever required. Maintenance includes checking fluid levels and topping up as needed.
Please use care when operating any moving parts (for example, hob/sink lids and gas grill doors). Using excessive force can cause damage, and such damage is not covered.
Worktops should be cleaned using standard household cleaning products. Heat damage to worktops (for example, heat marks from hot items) is not covered. We strongly recommend using heatproof mats or similar protection when placing hot items on work surfaces.
This warranty is subject to a fair wear and tear approach and does not cover misuse, user error, accidents, neglect, or improper care. If these conditions are not fully met, we may decline a warranty claim, you may lose the benefits under this warranty, and we may be released from our obligations. You are responsible for the costs of routine maintenance.
1.2 Camper Vinn Lifetime Conversion Warranty
Our Camper Vinn Lifetime Conversion Warranty provides cover for the parts and workmanship we have supplied and fitted as part of your Camper Vinn conversion.
In simple terms: if an item we installed, or work we carried out, as part of the build fails, it is covered – as long as your annual habitation checks are kept up to date.
The first annual habitation check must be carried out at Camper Vinn premises within 12 months of the original date of sale. Thereafter, each annual habitation check must be completed within 12 months of the previous inspection.
The customer is responsible for booking the habitation check in due time. Failure to complete the habitation check within 12 months of the previous check will automatically invalidate the Camper Vinn Lifetime Conversion Warranty.
1.3 What the annual habitation check includes
The habitation check is a paid, multi-point inspection intended to confirm the safety and practical operation of the campervan living system. It primarily assesses:
- Electrical system and components
- Ventilation
- Fire safety items/systems
- Mains electrics
- Water system
- Gas system
- Heating system
- Bed and roof system
A habitation check is not a mechanical inspection, does not test components produced by the base vehicle manufacturer, and does not replace the scheduled servicing of the vehicle.
1.4 Items covered under the Camper Vinn Lifetime Conversion Warranty
Provided your habitation checks remain current, the Camper Vinn Lifetime Conversion Warranty covers the following (where fitted):
- Electrical system and components
- Power management system
- Smart charging system
- Diesel heater
- Bed system and components
- Interior fixtures and fittings (including lights, hinges, push locks)
- Gas system and components
- Water system and components
- Roof shell (including struts)
- Pop-top/elevating bed (including struts)
- Swivel seat mechanism
1.5 Fair wear and tear
All warranty cover is subject to fair wear and tear and excludes accidents, misuse, and user-related damage.
Over time, some components naturally degrade due to normal use – this is considered wear and tear. Examples include (but are not limited to) parts that move regularly, such as hinges, gas struts, and locking mechanisms.
Depending on the age and mileage of your vehicle, we may not be able to cover failures caused by normal wear and tear, and replacement costs may be your responsibility. This is assessed case by case.
The following are not covered:
- Any fascia or worktop damage caused by excessive heat or direct heat sources
- Damage caused by abuse, user error, or accidental impact to any part of the vehicle or conversion
- Perishable items supplied and installed as part of the conversion
1.6 Care and maintenance requirements
Looking after your campervan is essential. Failure to follow reasonable care and maintenance can invalidate warranty cover. Examples include:
- Operating moving parts carefully (hob/sink lids, grill doors, etc.)
- Avoiding excessive force on any part of the conversion
- Using heatproof mats to protect work surfaces from hot pans, kettles, or cookware
1.7 Business or commercial use (including hire)
If a vehicle is suspected to be used for hire, the Camper Vinn Lifetime Conversion Warranty will be void immediately. In such cases, any servicing, maintenance, or repairs required will move to a wholesale pricing structure. Further information is available from our service centre.
1.8 Items not included in the Camper Vinn Lifetime Conversion Warranty
The following are excluded:
- Paintwork (paintwork is covered for the first 12 months, unless we state otherwise)
- Base vehicle electrical and mechanical components
- Leisure batteries
- Vehicle starter batteries
- Upholstery wear and tear
- Mattress wear and tear
- Roof canvas wear and tear
- Graphics/decals
- Glass, framework, and seals
2. Base Vehicle Manufacturer Warranty
Where applicable, the base vehicle is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty from the date of registration, under the manufacturer’s terms.
Typical manufacturer warranty coverage may include:
- Repair or replacement of defective parts according to the manufacturer’s technical requirements
- Repair of consequential damage to standard parts caused by a manufacturing fault
- Labour costs for removing and refitting parts needed for approved warranty repairs (additional work linked to modifications may be chargeable)
- Paint defects that are not caused by external factors (e.g., accidents, stone chips, industrial fallout/pollution, plant resin, animal pollutants, chemicals, or lack of care)
This applies to the base vehicle only. The living/conversion elements are covered by Camper Vinn as described above.
3. Mechanical Work Warranty
This section applies to mechanical work carried out by our in-house service department.
All Camper Vinn parts and mechanical work carried out by us are covered for 12 months (the engine and gearbox are covered for 12 months or 7,000 miles, whichever comes first), unless we state otherwise.
Mechanical damage caused by abuse, misuse, normal wear and tear, or accidental impact is not covered.
4. Paintwork Warranty
This section applies to paintwork or spraying carried out by the Camper Vinn bodyshop.
All Camper Vinn paintwork is covered for 12 months, unless we state otherwise.
Paintwork damage resulting from external influence, user error, accidental damage, or normal wear and tear is not covered.
